Lee Mason
Man of the match for me. I hope they give him the award because his performance was faultless for the saints.

It's football, it's current day shit, it's fucking Pathetic!

Not sure, but form is tempory and class permanent, just casting a well served eye over things from top to bottom and applying the wise old owl knack of seeing all
Can't be any worse than now surely? It is desperately needed.

Has Sir Trev got the stamina for it and is he up to the modern day politics of the game?

Re: Lee Mason
Leroys, if they'd have sacked bilic last season there'd have been uproar , hence the singing of his name most games. It's easy to blame the board but up until very recently the vast majority of our fans believed he couldn't do no wrong either.

I have long felt that role should be Sir Trevor's
He knows the club's DNA, the fans, business, the FA and the media - what is not to like?

Re: Lee Mason
Where's the football man at our club advising the board ?

Sullivan thinks it's him but surely we need someone to tell the board it's time to sack Bilic

They think.they are great because they don't knee jerk...fuck me it's all a trembling now !

Re: Lee Mason
I think the point was would he had have had that pen given against him in a Man City shirt.

We were our own worst enemies.
Arnautovic was an idiot and Noble should have gone as well.
The first pen was a blatant pull.
You aren't going to win many games with that indiscipline and poor defending.
We are carrying more passengers than the bloody Titanic and need to find a bit of professionalism from somewhere.

Re: Lee Mason
Can't action only be taken after the game if the ref didn't see it?

And yes, he had just blown. Would assume that was why he took no action, as said.

chelmsford

When you said "as tadic should of gone first it could be argued that the noble and arnie fouls wouldn't have happened" I thought you were suggesting he wouldn't have elbowed their player had Tadic been sent off earlier. Sorry if I misunderstood.

chim

just for the record, I don't blame Bilic for anything that went wrong today. In fact, he did well with what he had.

"Zabaletta makes that challenge three minutes into injury time. Does Mason give Southampton that penalty?"

Yes

Re: Lee Mason
Will tell, and if a penalty was given every time something like that happened in the box there would be about ten penalties every match.

chelmsfordhammer 7:34 Sat Aug 19
Re: Lee Mason
Chim, spot on, there's a section of our lot that if we'd been given a penalty like that in the last minute would be saying we got lucky because it wasn't a penalty.

" I still don't agree their second penalty was a penalty."

It was a push in the back FFS!

Re: Lee Mason
The fact that the ref took no action against Noble is the reason it might be judged a red after the match, isn't it?

Unless Mason says he blew for the injury before the challenge went in?

Re: Lee Mason
Some people are already 'seeing' only the things that reinforce their prejudices. The people screaming for Bilic' head only see the bad.

I saw the ref as another in the long line of 'EVERYONE LOOK AT ME AND TALK ON TV ABOUT MEEE' cunts that the English game seems to breed.

Here's a test for you. It's last season and instead of us it's Man City who have come back with two goals with only ten men.

Zabaletta makes that challenge three minutes into injury time. Does Mason give Southampton that penalty?

Private Dancer 7:31 Sat Aug 19
Re: Lee Mason

''Wonder if Noble also gets a suspension for that challenge?''

No, because the ref was looking right at it. I think the fact that he had just blown up for something else was the reason he let it go.

We didn't lose because of the ref anyway.
